So it’s about damn time as the MLB Awards are coming out and the MLB is so stupid by putting out the awards on different days. The MLB should do what every other sport does and have an award show, hell even the NHL has an award show. But with that said we have the Rookie of the Year award tonight and it is some pretty good competition. I don’t know about you but I think every one of these players can win the award, so let’s get into my prediction.
N.L. Rookie of the Year Nominees:
OF Ronald Acuna Jr. Atlanta Braves
SP Walker Buehler Los Angels Dodgers
OF Juan Soto Washington Nationals
Winner: Ronald Acuna Jr.
Runner Up: Walker Buehler
Now to be honest this was a pretty easy award to predict. Acuna had the biggest impact for his team as he was a big factor in the Braves making their first playoffs since 2013. Acuna was able to hit .293, hit 26 home runs and scored in 64 RBI (avg. and HR lead the NL). Pretty good stats as this stud will be a future all star without a doubt next season.
A.L. Rookie of the Year Nominee
SP/DH Shohei Ohtani Los Angeles Angles
2B Gleyber Torres New York Yankee
3B Miguel Andujar New York Yankees
Winner: Miguel Andujar
Runner Up: Shohei Ohtani
So of course this will be the most controversial of the awards as both Andujar and Ohtani deserve this award, but in my opinion it should be Andujar. Andujar lead the rookies this season in home runs, RBI’s, doubles, and slugging percentage. Very very good season. And to be honest I can see why Ohtani, but Ohtani missed a good chunk of the season this year and played 45 less games then Andujar played.
So here are my award predictions so far. I will predict the awards every night and after ever award was announced I will give my reactions then. For now follow me on Twitter to see when I post these blogs at
