Here is my MLB 2019 Offseason Breakdown Blog. This time it is on the Kansas City Royals and I will talk about who the Royals acquired and lost, their starting lineup and pitching rotation and my prediction for them this season. Let’s get into the blog.
Offseason Acquisitions and Loses:
Billy Hamilton signs a 1 year 5.25 million contract
I mean he can steal bases. Sure why not.
Starting Lineup:
C: Martin Maldonado
1B: Ryan O’Hearn
2B: Whit Merrifield
3B: Hunter Dozier
SS: Adalberto Mondesi
LF: Alex Gordon
CF: Billy Hamilton
RF: Jorge Soler
DH: Chris Owings
Pitching Rotation:
1. Danny Duffy
2. Brad Keller
3. Jakob Junis
4. Jorge Lopez
5. Homer Bailey
Offseason Grade: C
Prediction:
The Royals are now in year 2 of the rebuild after literally losing everyone after not trading a single one of their stars. I’ll say this about that, not smart, not smart at all. But I will say this about the Royals, they got some good players in Merrifield and Dozier. Merrifield is a little more developed and has been getting better every season. Merrifield will make his first All-Star game this season, but it sucks because he will have no supporting cast around him as the Royals will finish last in the AL Central.
