Back for another installment of my MLB Offseason Breakdown for the 2020 season. If you are new here, what I do is write about all the acquisitions and losses the team had, my projected lineups and rotations, grade for the offseason, and my prediction for the team in the 2020 season. Let’s get into it.
Offseason Acquisition and Loses:
Nothing!!! The Rockies made zero trades, zero notable signings, nothing. Wonder what offseason grade I’ll give them.
Projected Lineup:
C: Tony Wolters
1B: Daniel Murphy
2B: Ryan McMahon
3B: Nolan Arenado
SS: Trevor Story
LF: Raimel Tapia
CF: David Dahl
RF: Charlie Blackmon
Projected Rotation
1. German Marquez
2. Jon Gray
3. Kyle Freeland
4. Antonio Senzatela
5. Jeff Hoffman
Offseason Grade: F
2020 Prediction:
Whats to say about this Rockies team. Well, last season the Rockies had the best batting average, the most hits, and the most doubles in the NL. Also, they had the second-best slugging percentage in the NL, third-most RBIs in the NL, and the 4th most runs in the NL, but somehow the Rockies finished 71-91 and 4th in the NL West. Well, that’s because the Rockies had the second-worst ERA in baseball, only behind Baltimore. So the Rockies did nothing to improve one of the worst pitching staff in baseball and that’s why they will finish in 4th place once again.
