Welcome back for the second instalment of SmallDog’s Super Gambling Station.Yesterday, not so good. I had maybe the worst luck someone can have when it comes to gambling yesterday. Yankees/Orioles over lost by one run, Shane Bieber had his worst start of the season. Just terrible luck, but hey today is a new day and it’s time to take a chance on college football. Now let me note before I start, I know very little about college football. The only people who care about college sports are people who either went to the school, live in the south, or bet on the games. I will be the third option there. So let’s get into the first real week of college football and get things started.
Pick #1: Syracuse/UNC Over 66.5 (-110)
Going to start my first game in college football with an over. Nothing better than cheering for a high scoring game. The reason I went with the over here is that UNC is having a lot of talks about being back again. Sam Howell had a great freshman season where he had 38 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Maybe they might be back, but it’s going to be to early to tell. Syracuse will keep this a close game and the over is going to hit.
Pick #2: Duke +21.5 (-110)
With my second pick I’m going with Duke covering this high spread against Notre Dame. As a guy on the outside of college football all I hear is Notre Dame is back, and this might be true this season, but Duke is a good team. I have no doubt that Notre Dame will win this game, but Duke has a good QB in Chase Brice. I will trust my life with any QB David Cutcliffe coaches (non-bias of course).
Pick #3: Rockets/Lakers Under 216 (-110)
This is the only basketball game going on tonight and you would expect two teams with such high caliber players that I would pick the over. Well guess again bucko. So far this series, the under is 3-1. Only in game 2 was when the over hit and that was when both the Rockets and Lakers played very good. I’m banking on the Rockets continuing being a lost team tonight with the Lakers doing the primary of the scoring. I hate betting unders, but this is the one of the few time I will do it.
3-Team Parlay: 1u to win 5.9 (+589)
Clemson -34 (-115)
UTEP/Texas Over 57.5 (-110)
Louisville -13 (-108)
To finish off my night I’m going with three team parlay and were going to do it with some football. Clemson is the best team in the nation right now so of course I will go with them to beat Wake Forest by a million. Texas has a lot of expectations this season starting off ranked 14. They also have a spread of -45 so if UTEP can score a couple of touchdowns, this over will hit easily. And finally I went Louisville because I saw a lot of people on Twitter saying they are going to win this game.
