This is really not good for a handful of reasons. The fact that the COVID cases are spreading like this, unsurprisingly, is a bad deal for the NFL. There is only one thing you have to do if you’re Roger Goodell, and that is cancel the season. Why should you cancel the season you motherfucker, well here is why.
The Titans:
I am going to start off with the Titans because they’ve been the only team to catch a positive case and postpone their game. The fact that there was a legit chance that the Titans were going to play the Steelers last Sunday and the Bills this Sunday has to be frightening if you a NFL player. The Titans were just going to jump on a plane and make contact with another team and staff and come back to Tennessee. Why, because they went a few days of not having a positive test result? This is not going to look good for the NFL when almost every team contract the virus because one team did not have a positive test for a few days. This virus can linger in your body for days and just as we saw today, two people got a positive test result two days after they had an all clear.
The Patriots:
Now this is the scary part and I still cannot believe that the Pats played on Monday. The fact that Cam Newton tested positive (the fucking quarterback of the team who throws balls to players) on Saturday, and the NFL said “yeah they can definitely get on a plane and play an all contact sport against another team” makes zero sense. They let TWO days go by and gave the all clear because every player had a negative result. Of course this was going to happen. The Pats star QB got the virus and spread it to his players. That is how viruses work, the fact that we let two days determine if the players should fly on a plane and play a contact sport is a horrible look.
What Now?
I cannot keep stressing this, they have to cancel the season. Too many players have been put at risk and at this rate the whole NFL will catch COVID because a team went three minutes without a positive case. At the bare minimum, the Chiefs, Patriots, and Titans CANNOT play this week. It does not matter the teams go two days without a positive result, this virus can linger in the body and then all of a sudden we have a full blown pandemic. I have a crazy idea, maybe we should take this virus which has killed over a million people more serious. Like we are having fans in games while a fucking virus that kills people is destroying this planet. Fucking idiots. Also , just as a daily reminder, fire Roger Goodell. He has done some horrible shit over the years, but now we can just end it. He is putting his players at harm’s way in order to earn some extra money. Oh wait, he does that on the daily, give him a 10 year extension.
