Man just yesterday I wrote a blog how I was scared about the future of the Mets and Francisco Lindor, but man what a 24 could do.
Holy fucking shit lets fucking go. I mean wow, just wow. I have so few words, but at the same time I cannot stop talking about how the Mets just extended Francisco Lindor for the next 10 years. 10 YEARS. I will be 31 years old when Francisco Lindor’s contract ends with the New York Mets. These next 11 years are going to be so much fun to watch because I will have a team that actually cares about winning, and hopefully will do some winning. I also find it funny how there are Mets fans already complaining about this contract.
Like I give a fuck how much we pay this generational player. Lindor is one of the best players in baseball right now and can make a case for the top 10 hitters in the MLB. He can hit for average, smack some bombs over the wall, and has a great glove at a position where we have not had anyone since Jose Reyes left the team in 2011. So Mets fans, get that crap out of your pants. The Mets got one of the best talents locked up for the next 11 seasons and you should love it. It’s not too much money because it is our billionaire owner, let us not forget he’s the richest in the MLB by more than double the next, who is paying this contract. Steve Cohen said he is willing to go over the luxury tax in order to win so why does it matter what he does with his money as long as he is trying to win. Man imagine not having one of the best shortstops in baseball locked up for the next decade. Couldn’t be me!
Also shout out Taijuan Walker, who seems like a great follow for Mets fans because it seems he loves being on the Mets (who can blame him). He had the scoop first on the Lindor deal but decided to keep hush hush about it.
And here are other Mets players reaction to the deal.
PS here is the live reaction of me, Mail, and Billy as we talked about the extension minutes after finishing up Pool Boys episode 67, coming out soon.
