I
I hate football. It’s plain and simple. The sport is stupid and should never be played again. High concussion rates, high injury rates. I can go on and on. If I was Roger Goodell I would cancel the season and just end the league as a whole, but I sadly know that is not going to happen. Roger is too pussy to do so I guess I would just have to live with the Giants being a shitty franchise.
The G-Men had one job today, win for Eli and they failed him and all the fans. Time and time again the Giants embarrass themselves and at this point, I am so over it. We had so many errors this whole game and in the end, it all falls on the head coach. The Giants had a total of 8 penalties, and almost all of them were costly. We lost this game because our team played dumb and kept getting penalized and that’s been the theme for the season. With 23 total penalties this season, we need to figure this out soon because we keep letting the refs deciding the game. We should have won these last two weeks, but simple mistakes keep screwing us.
Another problem that I and most people have been noticing is Joe Judge’s decision-making. Judge has been either calling shitty challenges that were wrong correct calls from the jump or calling timeouts in unnecessary moments, and that was seen again today. Judge challenged a call where he thought a Falcons receiver made a football move and fumbled, which he clearly did not, but the problem with the challenge was it was now 4th down. The Falcons were going to punt. No need to challenge, but at last, he did and he lost it losing the challenge for the rest of the game. Then with the timeouts, Judge used multiple timeouts when there was no reason to. One moment was when the Falcons were going down the field with the 4th quarter just starting. We already used a timeout and we decided to use a timeout and play conservatively. For a coach that is always preaching about being super aggressive, he loves to play conservative. (Just to note, the Falcons ended up getting a 1st down after the timeout.)
Just the little things that tick me off about this game, which end up being big things because we are being poorly coached. Now I’m not saying the Giants should be looking at changes at the head coach position but…. he keeps on making these rookie mistakes. I am also still on the boat of getting rid of Jason Garrett ASAP. He fucking blows, but that’s neither here nor there.
Now, time for the excuses. I very much did not like two of our top receivers leaving the game due to injury. Losing Slayton stinks, but Shepard is a whole other story. I like what I saw from Toney and Golliday is showing us why we gave him that big contract, but Shepard is Jones’ favorite target. Hopefully, he gets back on the field soon because he will help us win football games.
But it wasn’t like Jones didn’t have a good game. Jones has looked really good these last two weeks, having 0 turnovers in those games, but there is still room for improvement. We need to play better in the redzone as this week the Giants were 1/3 in scoring touchdowns inside the 20. We need to score more in the redzone but also get in the redzone more than three times. Another positive is Saquon looked better. He was moving his feet real well and the Air Saquon play was awesome. Let’s hope he is gaining his confidence back sooner rather than later.
PS: It could be worse Giant Fans. At least we didn’t have the refs screw us out of a delay of game and then have the best kicker of all time hit the longest field goal of all time to win the game.
