The Giants Need Change: New York Giants Gameday Blog, 2021 Week 4

Alright, so last week was shit. There’s no other way to explain it in my mind. We were emasculated by one of the worst teams in the league and I have lost most of my hope this season. The Giants flat-out stink! Our coaching staff has been horrible. Our defense is either really bad or really tired because the offense is not on the field long enough to give them a break. There’s a lot of things going wrong with this team, and with the way, my sports year has went I am getting burnt out. I just can’t stay positive.

But of course, there is always something in me that will stay positive, and no that’s not an AIDS joke. I already thought of the scenarios on how the Giants can win this game. The Giants are a hungry team. Coach Judge may not be his best this season, but he’s one of those gritty coaches that will always fight. Judge knows how to get his boys fired up and always show life, even if there is much left.

We also get to have Danny Dimes play his first game against the Saints and it is in the Superdome, which feels like a Giant fan’s wet dream. It felt like Eli always slung it when he was down in New Orleans, especially near the end of his career, so I don’t see why Daniel Jones would be any different. Jones does have better arm strength than Eli so I wouldn’t be shocked if he had a +300 yard game. That’s what the Superdome does.

One thing I am scared about for this game is Jameis Winston. Jameis Winston is the most fascinating QB in the NFL because you truly never know what he’s going to do. Last week what Jameis did to my co-host’s team was very mean. He just makes plays that should end up poorly, but somehow, someway they work out. Jameis is a wild card and I am truly scared to experience that once again.

My prediction for this game is that the Giants lose. It sucks to say, but the Saints are the better team. Their defense has been pretty solid this season and I do think Jameis and Alvin Kamara will tear up our defense this week. It doesn’t help that we are missing two of our top wide receivers, but hopefully, Kadarius Toney steps up this week as he gets the extended role. We also need Jason Garret to stop being an idiot and use Daniel Jone’s strengths.

Daniel Jones is having one of the best seasons this year with deep passes. Use it, and not just on 3rd down. Use it on 1st when they expect a run. Be diverse with your play calling. Stop doing the same 2 yard rush up the middles then on third down do a short pass that doesn’t get close to a first down. Also, Danny Dimes is also known as Danny Flash because the Jones can move. Use his strengths Garret for the love of God.
