Finally. Some good news coming out from the Mets. This was the right move and if you think otherwise you are a nincompoop. Luis Rojas, nice guy. Have nothing bad to say about him personally. He seemed like a very nice guy and that’s why a lot of the younger players loved him coming through the Mets system, but man did he suck. He was not a very good manager and it always seemed like he was saying the wrong thing during the press conferences.
I knew this relationship was over when he said wins and losses mean the same in April and September. A very dumb thing to say because it flat out makes no sense. I get what he was trying to say, but you NEED to win in September, no matter what. What also made it stupid is that the timing was so poor. If he said it when the Mets were up 8 games in the division, yeah that makes sense. But when you do it when the Mets are on a brink of collapse, you look very dumb.
Now letās look at who the Mets should get as their next manager. A lot of names have been thrown out there. Notable names like Bob Melvin and Ron Washington were names that I have seen, but there is only one person I would like to see manage the Orange and Blue. Carlos Beltran. Carlos Beltran was, in my mind, wrongly fired two years ago after the Astros cheating scandal, but I believe it is time to bring him back. Managers like A.J. Hinch (Tigers) and Alex Cora (Red Sox) have returned to coaching after they faced their own āpunishmentsā and I would like to see Beltran return as well. Beltran was the first option from the beginning. Make things right Uncle Stevie, and bring Beltran back.Ā
