Ah yes. One of the best times of the year. Football is going on. The weather is turning perfect. Basketball and Hockey are right around the corner, but most importantly, MLB Playoffs are here. I love this time of the year. Now sadly we don’t have the CHAOS Jeff Passan has been tweeting about for the last two weeks, but I am still happy to see playoff baseball back in my life. So with that said, let’s show off the predictions. And remember, these predictions are 100% going to happen, so make sure to bet the house on my World Series winner.
Wild Card Round
AL Wild Card
Yankees V. Red Sox
The rivalry, or whatever is left of it. This should be a very close matchup tonight, but I am giving the edge to the Red Sox. I feel like they have the better offense going into this game, and it is also hard to believe that Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton will continue this tear they have been on. They have shown they are not clutch players, especially Mike when October is flipped on the calendar. I do think Gerrit Cole will have a good wild card game, but the Yankees will blow it when they switch it up to the bullpen.
Winner: Red Sox
NL Wild Card
Cardinals V. Giants
Dodgers. That’s it. They are one of the best teams in baseball anf they will continue to show that as they easily beat the Cardinals. The Cardinals had a nice September, but that will end come tomorrow.
Winner: Dodgers
Division Series
ALDS
Red Sox V. Rays
The Rays are crazy good. They held control of the AL East with ease these past couple of months and they will show that as they beat the Red Sox with ease in the D.S. Their talent is above everyone else in the American League. You can put anyone on that mound and I will believe they are going to have a star-studded performance because that’s how good they are.
Winner: Rays in 3
White Sox V. Astros
The White Sox continue to show off their good young and they are going to make the World Series… one day. They have a tough task in my mind as the Astros are going to do what they always do. Win. The White Sox still have a lot to learn and they are going to have to wait until next season to make that pennant run.
Winner: Astros in 5
NLDS
Dodgers V. Giants
This is going to be a good one. The two best teams in baseball going at it to decide who wins the NLDS. That sucks, but that’s baseball Suzyn. I had a lot of conflicting ideas on who going to win this bad boy. In my regular season predictions, I predicted the Dodgers to be the wild card team, behind the Padres (yuck), but bet on them to make and win the World Series. Now, the Giants have just proved the whole world wrong and they are for real. I don’t know what happened with them this season, but I am going with the Giants winning this series. The Giants just edged out the Dodgers in the regular season series 10-9 and they will do the same thing here.
Winner: Giants in 5
Braves V. Brewers
Now, this is the hardest series to predict. The Dodgers and Giants were hard, but I truly have no idea who will win this series. The Braves have been red hot lately, winning 8 of their last 10. The Brewers on the other hand have lost their last 11 of 18 games, and that’s why I love the Brewers. Give me the team that’s going cold in the playoffs. I’ve been burnt way too many times on teams coming into the playoffs hot, 2017 Indians, and that’s why I am going with the Brewers.
Winner: Brewers in 4
ALCS
Astros V. Rays
Remember how I just sucked off the entire Rays franchise in my last paragraph about them, well throw that down the drain. God is a cruel mean person and he hates you. The Astros are the team everyone hates and still has the talent from those 2017-19 teams. They are going to win this series and they will drink your Twitter tears when they do.
Winner: Astros in 6
NLCS
Brewers V. Giants
The Giants are a good fucking baseball team and I will continue to ride with them here. Little fun fact, during the 2010-14 Giants title run little SmallDog was a fan of the Giants and was on the bandwagon. That all ended in 2016 for obvious reasons, but I will root for them here. They are the loveable team no one thought would be here. And it’s not just that I want them to win, I know they are going to win. Their team is sick and so much better than the Brewers.
Winner: Giants in 4
World Series
Astros V. Giants
Don’t worry guys. The Giants will put an end to your misery as they will win this World Series. Their team has been the best in the MLB and they will show it off as they win their 4th World Series in 11 years. Who knows, maybe the Giants start an odd year championship run in this decade.
