Ay yes, one of the best times of the year. The weather is warming up, you start to hear birds chirping, and Wrestlemania is here. Wrestlemania has moved to a two-day event since the pandemic started and I loved the change. Instead of 8 hours of wrestling in one day, we get it in two days. We get time to relax and enjoy the whole thing.
Now I have not been the best wrestling fan as of late, but I know what’s going on. I am always following what’s going on and watching some of the shows. I know this has the potential to be the best Wrestlemania since they adopted the new two-day event because of all the great matches, celebrity appearances, and surprises.
One thing I am not happy about is that we are missing some top stars on this show. Intercontinental Champion Ricochet and U.S. Champion Finn Balor are not on the card and should be defending their titles. We are missing out on some great matches there. It sucks they had nothing for those guys, especially when they are champions. That’s enough said, now let’s get into the predictions (I have no idea what the order of the matches is, I’m just going off of what’s on WWE.com.)
Raw Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) V. Bianca Belair
Let’s start off with two of the best women wrestlers doing it right now. This match should be awesome. Both these women have fought in the main event of prior Wrestlemanias and won their match, so it’s the first time we are seeing that at Wrestlemania. I am calling that this match will be the match of the night and probably the whole event. I have Bianca Belair as the best women’s wrestler in the world, and it’s not even close. Belair has been awesome since she debuted on the main roster, and this match has a lot of history.
Becky Lynch returned from the birth of her child at Summer Slam last year, and they had her beat Bianca Belair in less than a minute. A very puzzling decision at the time, and I still don’t know why they did it. Regardless, Belair should get her retribution and win the title back.
Drew McIntyre V. Happy Corbin
I hope this match is in the middle of the card because it’s a perfect bathroom/food break match. Drew McIntyre is one of the best in the world, and they just needed him to do something this Wrestlemania. They gave him the match against Corbin to get him on the card. I wish they gave the match a stipulation like a no DQ match, but hopefully, it’s a quick one where McIntyre looks dominant and they move him on to better things.
New Day V. Sheamus & Ridge Holland w/ Butch
Another match I don’t really care about. The New Day have lost their luster, but I still love them. it sucks that Big E is not able to compete in this match after breaking his neck a couple weeks ago, so hopefully, they give the New Day a nice win at Wrestlemania.
Dominic & Rey Mysterio V. Logan Paul & The Miz
One of the three celebrity matches taking place this weekend, the only one happening on day one of Wrestlemania, and I think this will be a good match. Logan Paul might be hated by most people on the internet, but I think he will take this 100% seriously and maybe open some eyes of the people. I don’t think he’s going to be Bad Bunny good, but I don’t think he’s going to be bad, and with Rey Mysterio on the opposite side of the ring, he should look good. Now for the match, I think Logan Paul and the Miz will win this match. I think they will win in some nefarious ways, which will result in Dominic Mysterio turning on his dad. They should end this tag team and get Dominic by himself.
SmackDown Women’s Championship: Charlotte Flair (c) V. Ronda Rousey
I’ve was a huge fan of Rousey ever since she joined the WWE back in 2018, but there’s just something about this run I haven’t enjoyed. Her Royal Rumble win was lackluster, and I’m not buying that she’s interested in WWE. I think the right move is to keep the title on Charlotte as she continues her reign as the greatest to ever do it, and a win against Rousey at Wrestlemania will even further that.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship: The Usos (C) V. Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Boogs
Rick Boogs and Shunsuke Nakamura are cool, but the Usos should not lose to them. The Usos are one of the best tag teams in the WWE. They should continue their run as champions and still be champions tomorrow night if they walk down to the ring with thier cousin, Roman Reigns. I am looking forward to Shinsuke Nakamura’s entrance because he has the best theme song in WWE, so a crowd at AT&T stadium should make it sound awesome.
Seth Rollins V. Mystery Opponent
So if you follow wrestling, you should know who the mystery opponent is. If not, the mystery opponent is Cody Rhodes. I cannot wait because this will be the most prominent singing since AEW emerged. Rhodes was the EVP of AEW and helped start up the newest and hottest wrestling brand, but due to AEW and Rhodes not reaching a deal, Rhodes left AEW and is now predicted to head to WWE. Rhodes is one of the most talented wrestlers in the world, and I hope his run this time goes a lot better than it did in his last. I can see some shenanigans happening before Rhodes debuts because WWE loves to troll its fans. Rhodes should win this match as he and Rollins should tear the roof down if they do have a match.
The K.O. Show with Kevin Owens featuring “Stone Cold” Steve Austin
So this is the main event of the first night of Wrestlemania. You may be wondering from the title above that this does not sound like a match and your right. As of now it’s just an interview between one of the best to ever do it and Kevin Owens. Kevin Owens has been calling out the state of Texas for over a month now because that’s what wrestlers do. Stone Cold took exception to that and accepted KO’s invitation to his show at Wrestlemania.
Now you should be interested in this because Kevin Owens is a top-tier talker. He can talk with anyone so him and Stone Cold going after one another should be awesome. Also, just like Austin, Kevin Owens finisher is the stunner. So that should be interesting. There is potential that this turns into a match, but the fact that Austin has not had a match in 19 years makes me believe he will keep it like that and if they do have a match, it will be a short one. Regardless this should be a fun way to close out the night with one of my favorite wrestlers in WWE and one of the best to ever do it.
