The last 24 hours plus has sucked major ass. Yesterday was supposed to be a happy day that lead to a great weekend. MLB The Show 22 came out and I was super excited to play it for the first time. Then I thought I would get to go into Wrestlemania weekend with a great attitude, but like most things, that was ripped away from me. Just truly a shitty day yesterday.
Met fans can truly never have nice things. The Wilpon’s leave and we thought it would be sunshine and rainbows with uncle Stevie at the helm, but no. This team is cursed. It doesn’t matter how much money you throw at it, it does not fix that facts that we are cursed and will get fucked at every opportunity.
It’s always at the worst times too. Why did it have to be a week before the season started that we found out about this month long+ injury. Why couldn’t this injury be found sooner. We were so close to we Jake pitch opening day and make his return, but it was all taken away.
And as depressed I’ve been with the news, somehow I am being the most sane. The amount of hate I’ve been seeing on deGrom is blowing my mind. I get he’s been injured the past few seasons, but don’t turn your back now on the greatest pitcher of our generation. Stick with the guy who brought us back-to-back Cy Young’s. Hating on deGrom does nothing but make you look like an idiot.
It is funny that we are going crazy that we lost our #1 when our #2 can be just as good as deGrom. Scherzer may be a little hurt right now, but that freak with two different colored eyes isn’t missing opening day, especially against his former team.
deGrom is expected to miss at least a month due to the injury, but I have been seeing the better in things since I woke up this morning. It was not a muscle or ligament injury. Things could have been a lot worse so let’s just hope he heals up in 4 weeks and his rehab goes well after. Stick together Mets fans because this will be a long season. We have a great starting rotation so let’s hope the love Billy Eppler made pays off. Speaking of moves…
I don’t like this at all. There is no reason to trade Dom Smith. Smith had a down season last year, but it seemed like it was from a injury that he decided not to fix. We don’t need an aging veteran in Hosmer who cost this team a lot hard feelings in the past. Same goes for the the pitcher who got in a fight with Pete Alonso for not winning rookie of the month back when they were both rookies. I don’t need the Mets to get a player that out Star player doesn’t like, especially when I was shitting on the Yankees for doing that this offseason when they got Josh Donaldson.
