Mets Acquire Some Depth

Yeah I’m back. I paid a full year for this website again so let’s make it worth while for a week or so.

In all honesty I like this move. The Mets add another bat to their team that will most likely just add their the depth on the bench. I know it’s not the prettiest move in the world, but it’s not a bad one either. I think Tyler Naquin will be a solid addition to our lineup when our regular outfielders need days off. A .246 batting average and .305 OBP are not bad stats for someone coming off the bench.

It’s also a nice upgrade from what they had. I love Travis Jankowski as much as the next guy but since he’s come back from the IL he’s been a non-factor for this team. Jankowski hasn’t gotten a hit since May 2nd and 0-29 in his last 29 bats. I get he’s really fast and can play good defense, but you need a guy who can be productive with the bat. Naquin is just that guy for this team. Naquin will (hopefully) get hits and get on-base when one of our starters need an off day. Also, after seeing the clip below, Naquin has some wheels

We are in good hands with Billy Eppler. We gave up nothing for Naquin and this isn’t the last move he is going to make. I fully expect Willson Contreras and David Robertson to be on the team by Tuesday with some extra relief options. I believe in the Epp-Dawg as he continues to make this team into World Series contenders!
