SmallDog’s Super Gambling Station 1/14/23

No worries, everyone’s favorite gambling blog is back and after a year or so hiatus I am back to only give winners, because all I do is give winners (not really). But with this new iteration of SDSGS, I will be so much better at gambling because it will only be winners. So with that out of the way let’s show todays picks.

Last 30 Days record: 31-38-0 (-1.74u)

Pick #1: 49ers -9.5

I’m not the biggest fan of this pick, but what I keep going back to is Geno Smith is the starting quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks. God bless, Geno Smith, I’m a big fan. Was my primary starting QB in fantasy this year and really loved that he proved the haters wrong. The sad news now is that I will hate on Geno Smith. (And I get you can use the same case with Brock Purdy, but I don’t care) The 49ers defense is so god damn good, and showed that off this year against the Seattle. In both games played this season, the Seahawks were held under 14 points, all while Geno averaged 217.5 yards in those games. The niners defense will show their supremacy in this game as the Seahawks go for the 3 game sweep.

Pick #2: SEA/SF Under 42.5

After reading the last paragraph, you know why I am going with the under. Sam Francisco having one of the best defenses in the league with stop Seattle from scoring and Purdy will do just enough to cover, but Seattle will play them hard to prevent them from scoring too much.

Pick #3: Jaguars +2.5

If you told me last Saturday this was going to be the matchup, I would have been all over the Chargers. As someone who has a Chargers future to win the Super Bowl, this was a great round one matchup for LA, but now I’m pissed. Brandon Staley threw away any chance the Chargers had to win the Super Bowl last week as he played all his starters in a meaningless game against Denver, and will most likely be without Mike Williams for the rest of the playoffs. There was no reason to play your starters last week, and now LA will have to face the consequences.

The Chargers losing Mike Williams does not mean they will automatically lose to Jacksonville, but not having Williams sure does hurt. I also like the fact that the Jags are hot. The Jaguars are on a 7 game win streak and have been playing, playoff football since late November. I see them continuing this hot streak and taking advantage of the Chargers stupid coaching decision.

Pick #4: Both Christian McCaffrey and Austin Ekeler to have 80+ Rushing + Receiving Yards (boosted to +120)

We will finish it off with a boasted parlay. I have no doubt these two running backs will be key factors in winning their game and am really confident they can get way more than 80 rushing and receiving yards.
