The Giants Season End In Embarrassing Fashion

After over 24 hours, I am finally ready to write this blog. It’s been an emotional day and a half for your boy. I was hyped to see what my Giants could do after winning their first playoff game in 11 years. My Giants pride had me thinking they had a legit chance of beating this Eagles team, but they were just embarrassed in the end. You could not ask for a worse way for the Giants season to end. To be emasculated by your NFC East rival in the playoffs humbles you. The Giants have a long way to go if they want to compete with some of the top-tier teams in the league, like the Eagles. The roster will need a significant rehaul this offseason if we want to compete, but that is a blog for another time.

The worst part of the game was I knew it was over from the Giants first offensive drive. I asked Daboll to play aggressively in that game, but going for it on 4th and 8 in the midfield was a crazy decision. You gave the Eagles the ball after they drove down the field on their first drive and scored another easy chance to break open the game. You have to punt that ball and give your defense some breathing room. And I still have all the confidence in Daboll. He just got outplayed by a superior team. He is the right man for this job and has shown us that he can do it with anyone. Give him the right players, and the league will be put on notice.

Now the hate we’ve seen for Daniel Jones is unwarranted. Just last week, most of New York was singing his praise. A lot of people, from tv/radio show hosts and fans, wanted to see Jones back in the blue and white after that game, and just like that, people changed their minds. Why? Because Jones had his first lousy week in over a month against one of the best defenses in the NFL? Jones had zero time in the pocket and had no time to get rid of the ball or leave the pocket to try and make a play. I am sick and tired of people putting all the blame on Jones. He was the reason we got to this spot. Don’t get me wrong, Jones had a bad game, but so did the whole team. From coaching to players, no one was doing well.

This will be a very interesting offseason and will be the first true test of Joe Schoen. What can he do, and how will he make this roster into an actual contender. I guess we will have to wait and find out.
