The Best time of the year is here. Wrestlemania season is officially on, as the Royal Rumble is just hours away, and I’m to tell you exactly what’s going to happen. As someone who pays $5 to SRS for spoiled, I feel like I’m the most qualified person to write about this.
Bray Wyatt V. LA Knight in a Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match
Hell yeah bother, what better way to kick things off than a sponsored match for Bray Wyatt’s debut match. I don’t know why Bray Wyatt can’t have normal matches with normal lighting. It’s not like he can’t wrestle. There’s no reason why they have to hide him. I have no expectations for this match. It’s going to be goofy as hell, but maybe things will change now that Triple H is in charge. If Vince was running creative, this could be the worst match in the world. But with daddy H, I trust he can make something out of it.
Winner: Bray Wyatt
Bianca Belair (c) V. Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship
Another match I don’t care about. Nothing against the two wrestling, but we all know the results. Belair is winning this match. She’s not going to lose her belt right before mania, which is the WWE trend. Since 2014, a world championship has only changed hands three times. The Royal Rumble isn’t about who’s going to be champion heading into Wrestlemania, it’s about who the champion will face, and right now, this championship is all about Belair. Bliss is a good wrestler, but Bianca is the face of the women’s division. She’s going to be holding onto that belt in late March/early April to defend that title. Also, this is going to be another goofy match, as we will see Uncle Howdy in back-to-back matches, probably costing Bliss the title.
Winner: Bianca Belair
Roman Reigns (c) V. Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
Now, remember how I just wrote about the championship never changing hands? I think WWE is going to hit us with a swerve tonight. Who knows, maybe Roman’s famous cousin will get involved and cost Reigns the match. I think Kevin Owens will win this match and finally get to be WWE Champion. Now notice how I didn’t say Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. WWE has been flirting with breaking up the unification of the tag belts for weeks now. I see Owens walking out with both titles after his win, but on Raw, Heyman will have a clause in the contract they just signed saying it’s for one of the titles. Reigns will keep the Universal Championship and keep his championship streak alive. I hope WWE does this because I don’t want Roman having both titles going into mania unless he defends them on both nights.
Winner: Kevin Owens
Women’s Royal Rumble
It’s the basic answer, but Rhea Ripley has to win this Rumble. The match between Ripley and Belair would be the match of the night if the two go at it. In my opinion, they are the two best women wrestlers in the world right now, and what better way to build Ripley up than having her win her first Royal Rumble? Let her come in early, between 3-7, and have her be the ironwomen of the match. Let Mami display her dominance as she has a 2020 Brock Lesnar-like spot, eliminating everyone she has a chance to eliminate. She should be the Royal Rumble winner and main event with Bianca Belair at Wrestlemania. Also, the rumor is Chelsea Green will debut tonight. She would probably be the biggest unexpected name to be in this match.
Winner: Rhe Ripley
Men’s Royal Rumble
I mean, it has to be Cody Rhodes. All these vignettes WWE has aired on Cody Rhodes these last few weeks have everyone thinking Cody will win the Rumble, but we might have a Daniel Bryan situation on our hands. We all love Cody Rhodes, but Sami Zayn is the most over superstar in the WWE. No one is doing better at their job right now than Sami Zayn, and what better way to end the bloodline storyline than Sami V. Reigns at Wrestlemania, but that’s fantasy booking. WWE will have Cody win it, but a man can dream, can’t he? Unexpected names we could see are Matt Cordona, FKA Zach Ryder. Cordona has been tearing up in the indies, and what better time for him to return than at the Royal Rumble, the same time his wife returns.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
Time will tell if these predictions are right, but I cannot wait for this Royal Rumble. With Triple H in charge for just the first Rumble, I have high expectations and can’t wait to see how everything plays out.
