I can’t believe we finally made it. Week 1 Sunday football is here. It’s scary how much I love this day. Sports has such a wrap on my brain that a sport coming back can make me cry, and let me tell you, I want to cry. If you have not already checked out my 2023 NFL Predictions blog, you can click here for it, but this blog is all about my favorite picks for today. (I recently joined Draft Kings after holding out for the last two years, so if you see “*,” that means it is a free $25 bet I’m putting on the game.) Now, let’s go do this thing!
Titans +3 @ New Orleans* (2.5u to win 2.12)
It’s a new year, and everyone is still hating on the Tennessee Titans. I am a big supporter of Mike Vrable and still believe that Derrick Henry is a top 5 running back in the NFL. The Titans will keep this game close as they are a very similar team to the Saints. Derek Carr isn’t that much better than Ryan Tannehill, and I believe the Titans have a better offense and coach that will keep the game close. I wouldn’t be shocked if the Titans win this game.
49ers -2 @ Pittsburgh* (2.5u to win 2.27)
I think this line is a complete joke. I’ve seen all the gambling stats on how good the Steelers are under Mike Tomlin as underdogs, but the 49ers are one of the best teams in the NFL. They will blow the Steelers out on the road in week one and show the world that this spread was disrespectful.
Browns +2 V. Bengals* (2.5u to win 2.27)
I’ll be the first to say it: Deshaun Watson is a bad man. He doesn’t deserve to be in the NFL, but that doesn’t mean I won’t bet on his team, but he is a bad guy. Joe Burrow hurt his knee in the preseason, and I feel that we are not getting the whole story. A knee injury is hard to recover from, especially in the time he’s injured it, and I feel the Browns will take full advantage of it. The Browns are a sneaky, talented team and will get the win in this game. I’m playing it safe, betting the spread, but the Browns should win. Also, did I mention Deshaun Watson is a bad person?
2-Way Player Prop Parlay +100 (1u to win 1, boosted)
Justin Jefferson o49.5 receiving yards
Ja’Marr Chase o49.5 receiving yards
I saw this parlay on Draft Kings a few days ago and loved it. It feels like easy money, as JJ and Chase are the obvious primary targets and should easily get over 50 yards receiving.
3-Way Player Prop Parlay* +402 (2.5u to win 10u)
C.J. Stroud o0.5 interceptions
Anthony Richardson o0.5 interceptions
Bryce Young o0.5 interceptions
I was watching a gambling show on Friday and heard this pick and loved it. Rookies often struggle in their first start in the NFL, and theres a great chance the struggle leads to at least one interception.
4-Team Parlay +235 (1u to win 2.35) (no sweat)
Commanders -345
Ravens -470
Vikings -218
Patriots Alternate Spread +7.5
The first three picks are obvious. Some of the biggest favorites in the NFL, and then there’s the Patriots alternate spread. The Patriots will be a good team this year, and they are going to show it in week one. The Eagles are probably the best team in the NFL, but I’m betting on Bill Belichek and the Pats having a real offensive coordinator this week. The Patriots will keep the game to a one-score game, and if I’m wrong, it’s a no-sweat parlay.
4-Way Parlay +722 (1u to win 7.22, boosted)
Brock Purdy o199.5 passing yards
Christian McCaffrey o34.5 receiving yards
Dionte Johnson o39.5 receiving yards
49ers ML
Raiders/Broncos u43.5 points (1u to win .9)
This game is a tale of a really bad Raiders team going against a good Broncos defense. I think 43.5 points is a steal. The Raiders won’t score more than 2 touchdowns this game as they will struggle under Jimmy G.
Packers ML (1u to win .98)
The Packers’ reign under Aaron Rodgers is over, but the new one under Jordan Love is arriving. And what way to start this reign than beating their biggest division rivals. It will be a close game, but the Packers will just squeak out with a win.
5-Way Player Prop Parlay +774 (1u to win 7.74u, boosted)
Tyreek Hill anytime touchdown
Justin Herbert o249.5 passing yards
Jaylen Waddle o49.5 receiving yards
Tyreek Hill o49.5 receiving yards
Austin Ekeler o24.5 receiving yards
Giants +3 V. Cowboys* (2.5 u to win 2.45)
I love the Giants, so I have to bet on the Giants. Fuck the Cowboys.
5-Way Parlay +1184 (1u to win 11.84, boosted)
Saquon Barkley anytime touchdown
Daniel Jones o199.5 passing yards
Daniel Jones o24.5 rushing yards
Saquon Barkley o59.5 rushing yards
CeeDee Lamb o39.5 receiving yards
Look at that. I don’t hate the Cowboys that much. That Lamb kid is good enough to get at least 40 receiving yards!
Now, let’s go win some money!
