STEVE COHEN, I LOVE YOU! I FUCKING LOVE YOU MAN!

JUAN SOTO, I LOVE YOU! I FUCKING LOVE YOU MAN!

I literally have no words right now. My hands are shaking at an unreal rate. I am not sure how this blog will be punished because my adrenaline is going through the roof. I really did not think this day would come. Up to an hour ago, my confidence was at an all-time low. I did not believe Juan Soto would be on my team. Then, bam, that Jeff Passan tweet hit like crack. Instant sastisfaction. I ran out of my room in excitement and pure bliss. Why? Because one of the best players of this generation is going to be on my New York Mets for 15 years. Juan Soto. Francisco Lindor. That duo will feed families for years to come.

The best part of it all is that Juan Soto chose to be a New York Met. Last offseason, Yamamoto used the Mets in free agency. He used the Mets checkbook to get more money from the Dodgers, and that’s what I thought was happening here with Soto. Every day that went on, the money for Soto’s contract increased. That scared the shit out of me. I really thought we were being used again. I thought the Mets were going to have another letdown offseason. I would have been fine with plan B, but Soto was the guy the Mets needed. But then this tweet came out.

The Yankees offered Soto 5 million dollars less (and an extra year), and he still chose to sign with the Mets. Yes, Juan Soto wanted to make the most money he could, but he still chose us over the big brother Yankees. That is the best part of this all. Usually, the Mets are seen as lil bro, but we live in a new era. The Steve Cohen Era. In this era, things are different, and soon enough, Yankee fans will see that. The whole MLB will see it. [insert evil laugh]

The best part about this era is the Mets aren’t done. They still have a first baseman that needs to be signed and a few more starting pitchers. Just because the Mets signed Juan Soto to the highest-paid contract in North American sports history does not mean they are anywhere close to being done. Let’s go out there and buy a World Series! Now, I am going to watch 1000 Mets podcast/live streams because I am not going to sleep anytime soon.
