Welcome to the my thots. I will give my thots after every Knicks game, hopefully, to give you how I feel about what happened in a Knicks game or what’s going on with the team. With that said we will get on into it.
Where the hell is the floor sound?
I don’t know if its just the Knicks broadcast but the fact we have zero sound from the floor is horrible. I have no idea when a foul is called. I have to wait for a delayed Mike Breen to give me the call. This issue needs to get fixed immediately because I love to hear the raw emotions from the players. Without it, it’s going to be a long NBA season.
Away games are going to suck
Mike Breen, who is probably the best NBA announcer off all time sucked tonight. He had no idea what was going on with the game because the cameras wouldn’t be on the full court. He tried to tell the audience who was on the floor for the Knicks, but because the camera cut, he didn’t know who the final man was on the court. He also messed up on a couple players names because he couldn’t fully see who the player was. Something needs to improve because the announcing was kind of hard. Also, it sucked that Clyde wasn’t there tonight, but hopefully he will be back soon.
What was this starting lineup?
Payton, Burks, Barrett, Randle, Noel? Why can’t we just start the young rookies that we drafted. Obi, Frank, and Mitch should be the reoccurring starters this season. It’s going to be hard with Obi and Randle, but Burks, Payton, and Noel should not be starters this season. Frank and DSJ should share the 1 and 2 position, and Mitch should start every game at center. Plain and simple.
Tough start for RJ Barrett
Not the best start for my young king RJ. Starting the game shooting 0/6 and an air ball isn’t the best. He cannot be doing that, but he improved a lot after the atrocious start. He finished with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. He needs to start off better next game, but from my perspective it looks like he was getting back into the motion and will be better as time goes on.
Someone stop Randle
Can someone please tell Julius Randle to stop. I am one of the few Knicks fans that still likes Randle because I see his potential, the problem with him is that he plays a style that he shouldn’t. He thinks he should be the point guard and spins into the paint whenever he gets the chance. He needs to know he is a solid mid-range shooter and should stay in the paint because he is a beast in the paint. Thibs needs to fix this immediately.
Who the fuck was this white boy?
No seriously who was he? He was lighting up the Knicks today. He scored 14 points off 4/8 from three in 16 minutes. Dude has a sweet stroke.
Obi Toppin is going to be good, but has a lot to improve
I am in love with Obi already. Dude puts 110% effort in every play and rarely gives up. He moves across the court with ease and is such an athletic freak. The problem is, which we already knew, was his defense. If it was just him that was bad on defense, then we would be fine, but if him, DSJ, and Knox are going to be on the court at the same time, then we have a big problem. There were many possessions where the Knicks let up easy points because the trio played horrible defense. But, still loved to see Obi on the court and playing well.
Elfrid Payton
He is the Evan Engram of the Knicks. He has some good plays, he has some bad plays. Nothing in the middle.
No Immanuel Quickley or Ignas Brazdeikis
Really would have loved to see these two young guys on the court today. I’ll start of with Ignas first. He looks like he has a lot of talent, but we just don’t use him. It’s very weird, and I hope we see with more this season. Now on Quickley, Quickley looks like he was a steal in the draft where we got him and I hope we see him and Iggy on Sunday because they look like young studs who should get some playing time.
Game results
That game SUCKED to watch. A snooze fest, bad shooting, sloppy play, but what do you expect. Both teams haven’t played in over 9 months. The Knicks almost blew it in the end, but we came out with the win, so that was cool. We need to play better offense next game, but I am happy with 5 players scoring +10 points. We play the Pistons again on Sunday, which sucks because the Pistons absolutely suck.

Loves seeing Obi out there on the court and it should be a fun season watching him.
