The Knicks starting rotation is very boring
I mean, what a snooze fest. We have no true offensive weapon in our starting lineup. I love RJ, but he isn’t the #1 guy yet so we need him to have more pieces out there so he can develop into that. And the defense is very subpar. Everything about that starting lineup makes me sweat at night because of how boring it is. Speaking of our starting lineup…
The Bulldozer
This might just be me, but how have we not called Julius Randle the bulldozer yet. All he does is run people over with out any consequence. It’s gotta be his nickname for now on. Again, apologies if this is a thing, I had no clue.
Atrocious defense in the first
After what we saw on Friday, I cannot believe what happened in the first. The Knicks played with zero emotions in the first and it showed. 31 total points in the first is an absolute joke. I was disgusted watching that type of defense, especially after how bad the Pistons were on Friday. Thankfully the Knicks were able to fix that and played better defense the rest of the game.
DSJ and Kevin Knox are lost souls
I don’t know what happened with these two. They are so lost out there, how does Thibs keep using them at this point. Kevin Knox had two air balls early on in the game and DSJ looks like he cannot run an offense. He isn’t a true point guard and we should really let someone else, *cough* Frank *cough*, run the point when Payton isn’t on the court. Something needs to change and its possible because we have players who can easily take over those positions.
Knicks Twitter Lineup
I was hyped when I saw this lineup come out and I know all of Knicks Twitter was too. Hopefully we can see a lot more of this lineup in the future because this lineup can fuck shit up. Especially Quickley and Frank, who when they entered the game they played some strong minutes. I don’t know what Thibs thought on Friday that said Frank should only play 12 minutes tonight compared to DSJ’s 17.
Burks and Bullock will play big roles for the Knicks
The reason I say this is because they are without a doubt the best three point shooters on the team. They can make three with consistency and it showed tonight with Burks. Burks had a good run in the third, where he made a couple of threes and played some strong defense. Bullock could fill that role too, it’s just a matter of how Thibs wants to use these players.
Obi Toppin
Not the best game from Obi in his second preseason game. Shot 1/9 and 1/6 from the three point line. Needs to play better, but it was an all-around bad game for the Knicks. The defensive problem continues as there were multiple screen plays with Frank that Obi did not switch on. The Pistons had multiple open shots after Obi did not switch on the screen. That is going to be something the Knicks need to work on because as a PF he needs to be able to run a screen on the defensive end.
Final Thoughts
Another game not fun to watch, but its preseason and the players are still getting used to playing with one another. Gotta hope we play better Wednesday night against Cleveland, home at MSG.
